awarded top award at the 36th Boryung Medical Community Service Awards
Dr. Sung-won Kwon of CHA University Gangnam Medical Center received the 36th Boryung Medical Community Service Awards. The Korea Medical Association and Boryung Pharmaceutical opened a judging committee, in which Dr. Kwon was selected for the honor.
Dr. Kwon has managed the Korea Prostate Management Committee for 20 years since he was appointed as president at 2001, and provided free healthcare for 88,500 patients suffering from prostate disorder across the country for 17 years.
He founded the quarterly magazine ‘Healthy Prostate, Easy Urination’ and has published 71 volumes up to date, while also constantly publishing books on prostate disorder—including “Do you know about the prostate?” and “Is your prostate healthy?”—being a leader in raising awareness of prostate related diseases. Dr. Kwon held numerous symposiums and lectures in public health centers across the country, and continued research and international exchange on the prevention and management of prostate disorders.
Dr. Kwon Sung-won expressed, “I would like to dedicate my joy of receiving this award to all of the volunteers who took the initiative in making a healthier society and volunteered with me for a long time,” and added, “I plan to continue volunteering to provide healthcare to medically vulnerable patients with prostate disorders so they can continue living a healthy life.”
The Boryung Medical Community Service Awards is the oldest of its kind in Korea, which was established to honor the convictions of doctors that are devoted to providing medical care to medically vulnerable patients in Korea and around the globe.
