Safe Weight Loss Journey with Wegovy, Mounjaro and Cosmetic Care
Obesity is not merely a matter of appearance but a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other metabolic disorders. Although various approaches—including dietary control, exercise, and surgery—have been attempted, the proportion of individuals who are able to maintain weight loss over the long term remains low. Recently, however, medications such as Wegovy and Mounjaro, belonging to the GLP-1 class and the dual GIP/GLP-1 agonists, have opened up new possibilities for pharmacological treatment. Yet, these drugs must not be used indiscriminately; following principles of safe administration is absolutely essential.
The most important factor in using anti-obesity medications is controlling the pace of weight loss. Rapid reduction often brings gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, vomiting, or constipation. Starting at a low dose and titrating upward step by step is the safest and most effective approach in the long run. The author personally used Wegovy and reduced body weight from 86kg to 78kg. To minimize side effects, the goal was set at one kilogram per month, beginning at 0.25 mg and increasing every four weeks to 0.5mg, 1.0mg, 1.7mg, 2.4mg. This strategy not only produced weight loss but also improved metabolic indicators such as blood glucose, while preserving lean muscle mass and selectively reducing body fat—a truly healthier form of weight reduction.
Combining drug therapy with adjunctive aesthetic procedures can further enhance patient satisfaction. Fat-dissolving injections help eliminate residual fat deposits in localized areas such as the abdomen or under the chin, smoothing out the body line. Likewise, the ONDA laser, which uses microwave-based energy, reduces subcutaneous fat while stimulating collagen regeneration, effectively improving contour irregularities after weight loss.
Weight reduction often leads to sagging skin and decreased elasticity. In such cases, thread lifting or radio-frequency skin-tightening treatments can restore firmness by inducing collagen production. Particularly, PCL(poly-caprolactone) threads offer long-lasting regenerative benefits, making them advantageous for improving sagging in the cheeks and jaw-line after weight loss.
Ultimately, obesity treatment cannot rely solely on medication or procedures. Medications reduce weight, while aesthetic treatments restore contour and skin elasticity-a comprehensive approach is needed. Most importantly, these measures must be tailored to the individual through consultation with qualified healthcare professionals. Only with careful selection of medication, precise dose adjustment, side effect monitoring, and proper timing of aesthetic interventions can safe and satisfactory results be achieved. The true success of obesity management depends not on how quickly the weight comes off, but on how safely and sustainably it can be maintained.
